Arielle Toporovsky, Ph.D. , PMH-C

Licensed Clinical Psychologist | Adult Generalist & Integrationist | Perinatal Mental Health | Chronic Illness & Pain Specialist | Higher Education Consultant

At the core of psychotherapy, I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is instrumental in facilitating growth, recovery, and healing. This partnership requires mutual trust and communication, and I strive to cultivate a space where clients feel safe, seen, heard, and held. In my experience, some of the biggest transformations launch from the base of a trusting therapeutic alliance. I joined Neuhof Psychotherapy and Consulting, PLLC (NPC) due to my belief that continued collaboration and training with industry experts leads to better client care and outcomes.

I am a NYS Licensed Clinical Psychologist with over a decade of experience providing psychotherapy, neuropsychological evaluations, and critical case consultations for healthcare professionals. After achieving my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Adelphi University, I worked with clients in major urban hospital- and school-based clinics, including Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, Baruch College Counseling Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, and Maimonides Medical Center. My advanced training culminated in a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University Counseling & Psychological Services, where I was then hired as a psychologist dedicated to treating both undergraduate and graduate students. At these placements, I honed my expertise in working with clients with diverse sociocultural backgrounds, identities, and concerns.

I am a trained generalist, which means I am competent in treating individuals with a wide range of concerns. Throughout my career, however, I have developed a specialization in working with clients who have acute and chronic health conditions and pain. Currently, I am pursuing my Perinatal Mental Health Certification, which will equip me with additional tools to assist families experiencing mood, anxiety, and relational concerns related to pregnancy and the postpartum period, as well as those who have endured miscarriage and pregnancy loss.

In my work with individuals facing both pregnancy and medical concerns, I have developed a sensitive attunement to the mind-body connection and a clinical eye for noticing and understanding body-based symptoms as expressions of psychological distress or unmet needs. Additionally, I have expertise in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, learning difficulties that impact performance, peer, professional, and romantic relationships, family conflict and individuation, life transitions, the prenatal and postpartum periods, infertility, and pathways to parenthood.

My approach to treatment is rooted in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which creates enduring and meaningful change. This often takes the form of a deep dive exploration into one’s past experiences, relationships, and coping patterns. I journey with my clients to explore their internal world and hidden anxieties, wounds, or experiences that are causing them discomfort, pain, or feelings of “stuckness.” I am also integrative and flexible, and work collaboratively to cocreate a therapy experience unique to each client. To that end, I incorporate techniques from other empirically validated treatments, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Therapies (MBT) to provide further insight and relief. Above all, I am committed to bringing empathy, openness, and honesty to the space that fosters growth and positive change.

“Your profession is not what brings home your weekly paycheck, your profession is what you are put here on earth to do, with such passion and such intensity that it becomes a spiritual calling.” - Vincent van Gogh

Vlada Zapesotsky, P.h.D.

American Board Certified Trainer in Experiential Therapy | Trauma-Informed Care | Adult Discovery & Child-Caretaker Specialist

As an American Board Certified Trainer, Educator & Practitioner in Experiential Therapy (TEP), PhD candidate in Integral and Transpersonal Psychology (CIIS, CA), Certified trauma practitioner, and author, I bring a wealth of knowledge and global professional experience to my role as practitioner and educator with NPC. I have specializations in healthy child development, caregiver-child relationships, higher education, mental health, and medical collaboration, and the facilitation of adult self-discovery, professional growth, and personal fulfillment.

I started my professional path in the field of movie productions, helping the actors to warm up and connect to their feelings before going into a scene. After a few years, I realized that I wanted to focus on supporting people in connecting to their inner world and living a life full of creativity, joy and heartfelt connection with self and others. After completing my professional education and training in P.A.T., I have gained 15 years of experience in clinical, educational and private settings with children, adolescents and adults, facilitating group workshops, and individual experiential sessions in the education and mental health fields.

I was born in Russia, grew up in Israel, and now live in San Jose, CA with my husband and three children. As someone who has experienced several immigrations, I have a felt need for self-discovery along with working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and personal experiences, and found my true calling in supporting them on a journey of “becoming their own home”. I believe that Everyone has their own inner home—the sacred autonomous healing space where we know who we truly are in the essence of our capacity, natural strengths, and flexibility—from which emerges our most authentic self-expression.

My professional toolbox contains experiential as well as educative, therapeutic, metaphoric, metaphysical and spiritual techniques. More specifically, I have advanced training in experiential practices such as Psychodrama, Somatics, Integral and Transpersonal Psychology, as well as TSM, a trauma-informed healing approach. I am also a certified trauma specialist. In 2016, I developed a healing method and creative action model, The Way Home-to Your True Self, which serves people on a personal and professional level in a process of self-discovery, creativity, and the refinding and development of one’s truest self. I have authored a book o this topic, The Way Home: Discovering the Path to Your Truth, Nature, and Inner Treasures. (2018).

In my practice with NPC (notwithstanding my extensive industry experience),  I am not providing clinical work of any kind (I am not a licensed mental health professional). Our work together will be supportive, experiential, educational, and akin to life coaching. I will draw upon and weave together techniques from my global experience and professional training to assist you on your unique journey and in developing a sense of safety, joy, self-truth, creativity, spontaneity, self and other connection, reflective capacities and inner strength.

Veronica Paige, L.C.S.W.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker | Individual, Couples, Marriage & Family Therapist | Intimacy & Identity Specialist

My work is shaped by a deep passion for helping individuals, couples, and families nurture meaningful connections—with themselves and their loved ones—while exploring the interplay of these relationships. From a basis of self-understanding, I guide the examination of unhelpful patterns and cultivate healthier, more gratifying ways of relating.

My style is highly interactive. While rooted in a relational and an insight-oriented approach, I integrate techniques from various models to meet my clients’ needs. I have advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, while also incorporating elements of developmentally-sensitive, identity-affirming, trauma-informed therapies and systemic models where individuals are understood within the context of their most important relationships. Additionally, I specialize in treating a wide range of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, and trauma experienced in both child and adulthood.

As a certified couples and sex therapist, I have expertise in helping clients successfully navigate relational conflicts, intimacy challenges, emotional detachment and overwhelm, fear of abandonment and commitment, codependency, people-pleasing, aggression as defense, blockages to self-expression and communication. My approach to couples work synthesizes ideas and techniques from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Bowenian family systems theory (BFST) and intergenerational patterning, Imago relationship therapy (IRT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and a psychobiological approach to couples therapy (PACT) derived from neuroscience-informed and attachment-based practices.

As for my qualifications, I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Barnard College of Columbia University and a master’s degree with honors in social work from NYU’s Silver School. I hold advanced certifications from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP), the Training Institute for Mental Health (TI) for couples and relationship therapy, and the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP) for sex therapy.

It is my commitment to be genuine and fully present in the room—listening closely to my client’s fears, dreams, and desires while offering experiential and research-based insights. I see therapy as a collaborative process, facilitating co-created journeys. I work extensively with individuals, couples, and families from diverse ethnocultural backgrounds, as well as varying religions, personal identities, sexual orientations, and lived experiences. My respectful approach considers how intersections of identity and intergenerational patterns shape our sense of self, others, and the world. I am always open to feedback and adapt as needed to meet clients where they are, supporting them on their unique pathways toward their most fulfilling and authentic lives.
